Life is the longest RTS you’ll ever play (unless you play Dwarf Fortress),but there’s no menu screen, no pause button, and no escape key to change the settings. We are here, and we have to play. But just because life is long, that doesn’t mean it has to be a boring. Yes, you have to do some grinding to level, and yes you have to go through an ungodly amount of tutorials, but when all is said and done, it’s worth it. Every hour spent trying to improve your EXP and your MNY and your HP is all worth it.
First off let me warn you…. …. …..
Most of the posts on this blog will be an experiment on trying to game up something in my life that I mostly don’t want to do, (And I really don’t want to do alot of things) or I’ll write about the idea of the gameification and why I hope it’ll work.
Why do this? Because games are fun and folding laundry is not. But, laundry is an important part of modern life too.
Lets me cover some quick bases.
HP: Health points
Pretty straight forward, except it’s not. Health points are what most of the work will be going into. HP is governed by relationships, blood quality, and body composition.
EXP:Experience
We gain this resource over time, but the quicker we gain it, the better off we are. EXP gives potential multipliers to HP and MNY as opportunity arises. EXP is governed by Participating and Learning.
MNY:……..Influence
This one is just as tricky to me as HP. They both are easily stated plainly, but both feel way more difficult in practice. Influence is the amount of leverage you have over the things you need/want. Currency is heavily tied to this, but so is EXP and 1/3 of HP. MNY is governed by Income, Presence, and Status.
I can’t promise on how steady I’ll send things out, but I’ll do my best. And also, the above may change over time as the tests change my mind.
Let the games begin:)
